CONSULTATION

This is where Nyheke Lambert LTD gets an understanding of what you are trying to achieve. It’s at this point where we discuss the best and most cost-effective way to go about your project.

CAD DESIGN/SPECS

Computer-aided design is a fundamental step during the pre-production of your pieces. This is when rough sketches are brought to life, solidified and converted into manufacturing terminology. Specs contain garment measurements and finishing details, usually required if the product is being developed abroad.

PATTERN MAKING

This is the foundation of clothing. It’s the template from which the parts of a garment are traced onto fabric before being cut out and sewn together. Patterns are usually made of paper at the beginning stage and then transferred to a sturdier material, such as cardboard or plastic, once finalised to withstand constant use.

TOILING

The toile is a test garment, generally sewn from the same material or similar to the final fabric. Toiling is vital when making a new piece, it allows you to see exactly how the final garment will look and fit. It’s also the stage that allows for alterations or changes to the design.

SAMPLE MAKING

Making your first sample is a huge step. The sample is used as a test in the real world. If you like it, the sample is usually tested on a fit model for comfort and wearability. In most cases, it’s the piece used for product or promo shoots.

CMT SMALL QUANTITY PRODUCTION
